A Founder's Letter from Matt Mishak
I founded LegalTek.ai because I can't unsee what the legal system does to ordinary people when life breaks hard and fast.
Confusion becomes panic. Paperwork becomes paralysis. "Rights" feel theoretical exactly when they should feel real. Too many people need legal clarity and can't afford the time, the emotional bandwidth, or the traditional price tag. Too many lawyers are drowning in administrative friction that steals the very thing clients are paying for: judgment, strategy, and calm leadership.
LegalTek.ai exists to change that.
This company is my commitment to build a new kind of bridge between people and the law—one that is faster, clearer, more humane, and more accountable than what most people have ever experienced. This is not technology for technology's sake. This is technology in service of dignity. Precision in service of peace of mind. Modern systems in service of timeless work: helping human beings make good decisions under stress.
I come to this as a lawyer and operator, rooted in real clients, real courts, and real consequences. Through Mishak Law, I've seen what happens when someone feels alone against the system—and what happens when they finally feel protected. Through public service as Law Director for the Village of South Amherst, I've seen how institutions work when they're well-run and how they fail when they're not.
LegalTek.ai is where those realities meet: the urgency of clients, the responsibility of legal professionals, and the possibility of tools that actually serve both.
We build AI-powered systems that organize chaos, surface what matters, and help people move forward with confidence. We do it with a founder's mindset and a lawyer's discipline: we respect the stakes, we honor the facts, and we refuse to pretend that convenience is the same thing as justice.

The goal is not to replace lawyers. The goal is to remove the drag that keeps lawyers from being who they are called to be: counselors, strategists, advocates, protectors.

I'm not building this to prove AI can work in law. I'm building this because people deserve better than the current tradeoffs: speed versus care, scale versus quality, efficiency versus ethics. We are building a model where you don't have to choose.
You have rights—and you deserve to understand them.
You deserve tools that speak plain language without flattening the truth.
You deserve systems that don't make you feel stupid for not knowing what you've never been taught.
